KFC RESTAURANT

A KFC restaurant had been constructed on this site in 1980 on land that had remained undeveloped for many years and which adjoined a locally listed heritage item the Wesleyan Chapel c1845.

A rather modern building for its day it was now starting to show its age.

The proposal, prepared by TS Design Concepts, was to construct a new KFC restaurant on the site with the new footprint differing from the existing building in terms of area and orientation.

The new restaurant minimised the visual impact along Horton Street, opened-up the view to Church Hill, retained the existing mature Hoop Pine and was setback a greater distance from the Wesleyan Chapel.
